Wine of the week | Vinivino's review
07 December 2009
It’s from the Bodega Ruca Malen vineyard in Argentina that come the Ruca Malen Cabernet Sauvignon 2006. A wine made of Cabernet Sauvignon (90%), Petit Verdot (5%) and Merlot (5%).

The wine is aged 10 to 12 months in 85% French and 15% American oak barrels. The color is deep red with some violet hues. On the nose, blackberries, dried fruits, figs and black pepper aromas. On the palate, you will find a very aromatic and rounded wine. It has a vibrant acidity. We can recall the blackberries and figs aromas from the nose that will lead to persistent chocolate and vanilla flavors. Velvet tannins and a persistent after taste.

Paired it with game, duck and beef. Ideal served with wild mushroom sauce meals.

Serving temperature: 16 to 17°C (61-63°F)
Ready to drink now or cellar it until 2013.
