Wine of the week | Vinivino's review
28 June 2010
The Church Block 2008, a very nice blend made of Cabernet Sauvignon (47%), Shiraz (37%) and Merlot (15%).
The color is deep red plum. The nose exhibits fruity and blackcurrant aromas. These aromas are also added with hints of eucalyptus, chocolate, minerals and spicy aromas. On the palate, it’s a complex wine with plums, spicy and leather aromas. The Shiraz brings some heat to this wine while the Cabernet Sauvignon brings the elegance. A round, rich wine with velvet tannins.
Pair with a BBQ Angus steak topped with blue cheese, a filet mignon, game, grilled lamb chop, pastas and mild cheeses.
Serving temperature: 16-18 ° C (61-64°F).
Ready to drink now or cellar until 2016.
