Villa Antinori Toscana 2005 | Wine of the Week

A nice blend made of 55% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 5% Syrah. The 2005 vintage of this wine is one of the strongest offered to date.  Villa Antinori

The color is intense ruby. The nose exhibits blackcurrant, cherry and plum aromas. There are also some frankincense and coffee notes. On the palate, it’s a full-bodied wine rich in flavors described for the nose. Gorgeous and refreshing, this wine has soft tannins.

Paired with osso buco, pastas, lamb and strong cheeses.

Serving temperature: 16 °C
Ready to drink now or cellar until 2012.

    Guy-Jacques,
What the hell is a “frankincense note.” Surely, you jest.

    Hi Dan,

I guess there were a bit too much “frankincense” in the air that day!
Frankincense is used in incense. It’s from the Boswellia tree.
But, yeah… “incense” would have also been descriptive enough!

    Cheers!

For me, the best source where I can buy pure and fresh Frankincense is Oman Gift website. You will never get better than what they are offering in terms of quality and price. The website address is http://www.omangift.com.

    My respect to all :)
