Insoglio del Cinghiale Campo di Sasso Bibbona Toscana 2006 | Wine of the Week
Nice cherry red color for this beautiful Tuscan made by Lodovico and Piero Antinori with the help of Michel Rolland. This Insoglio del Cinghiale 2006 is a blend of 30% Syrah, Merlot 25% Cabernet Franc 25% to 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot 5%. This very aromatic Italian wine is fermented in stainless steel for 20 days and 6 months in oak barrels. There is, ripe red fruit, licorice, spices and earth aromas.
In the palate, tannins and a beautiful fresh round express the personality of this perfectly balanced blend. There’s also red fruit and spicy flavours to end with a long final.
The grapes for this red wine come from young vines (usually up to 4 years of age), it is a very surprising wine that shows a lot of personality and structure belonging to the terroir of this vineyard.
You will enjoy it with a grilled duck, with porto sauce or lamb with red wine sauce. Should be drank with the meal.
