Church Block 2006 | Wine of the Week

Recently, we talked about a wine from the Wirra Wirra vineyard in Australia, The Angelus, also known on the international market under the name of the Dead Ringer. This week, it’s the Church Block 2006, a blend made of Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Shiraz (30%) and Merlot (20%). Church Block

The color is deep red plum. The nose exhibits fruity and blackcurrant aromas. These aromas are also added with hints of leather, eucalyptus, chocolate and some vegetable and spicy aromas. On the palate, it’s a complex wine with plums, spicy and leather aromas. The other flavors of the nose are also very present on the palate. The Shiraz brings some heat to this wine while the Cabernet Sauvignon brings the elegance of the tannins.

Paired with a BBQ Angus steak topped with blue cheese, a filet mignon, game, lamb, pastas and mild cheeses.

Serving temperature: 16-18 ° C.
