Château Cailleteau Bergeron Premières Côtes de Blaye 2006 | Wine of the Week

This bordelais is back and, based from the precedent vintages, should not last long in store. This wine is a blend of Merlot 90%, Cabernet Sauvignon 5% and Malbec 5%. And at under $20, it’s a real bargain. Chateau Cailleteau

The color is dark. The nose exhibits fruity, vanilla, blackcurrant and leather notes. In mount, it’s fruity and woody flavors. Aromas of blackberry, pepper and tobacco also prime this aromatic mouth. This Château Cailleteau Bergeron Premières Côtes de Blaye 2006 has a fresh acidity, silky tannins and a long aftertaste.

It will be a good match with roasted duck, boneless rib steak and lamb rack.

Serving temperature: 17 ° C.
Ready to drink now (oxygen for 45 minutes) or cellar until 2015.
