Shiraz Cabernet Estate Series Wayne Gretzky 2006 | Wine of the Week

It’s from the famous single vineyard St. David’s Bench that come this Shiraz Cabernet Estate Series Wayne Gretzky 2006. This vineyard from the Niagara Peninsula has the reputation of producing concentrated and highly complex red wines. This vintage 2006 from the famous no 99 is no exception. An all fruit wine made of 70% Shiraz and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon.  wayne_édifice

The color is dark purple red. The nose exhibits ripe fruits and spices aromas. On the palate, ripe fruits, blackberry, plums, blackcurrant and spices flavors. The mouth is powerful, concentrated, complex and lead to a long finish. One of the best reds from this vintage in the Niagara region.

Paired it with grilled red meats, pastas and pizza.

Serving temperature: 16 to 17°C (61-63°F)
Ready to drink now or cellar until 2011.
